Seriously, I have seen people crashed out on that very lounge in LAX and on lounges in SFO intl RCC, on lounges in QF and also SQ. I say if you can actually manage to fall asleep in that environment, then good on you. I find the loud cell phone calls and the parents who let their kids run wild around the RCCs far more annoying than some poor sod trying to catch a few ZZZs prior to his/her next flight, but thats just me .

Personally - NO, I would not try to sleep in an RCC but I am female and generally travelling with my female child and our valuables....I am just not that trusting.

In the purpose built SQ lounge rooms for sleeping, yes I have tried...still didnt work. Seems I need to be fully flat on a 14 hrs transpac to get some shut eye .
