Don't try to deliberately miss the connection. 65 minutes is plenty in MUC and LH agents know that.

All you can do is hope that your NYC-MUC flight arrives late into MUC. If your flights leaves from JFK you stand a chance, because the main runway is closing for construction and delays are expected.

So plan to make the connection, and if the NYC-MUC is late consider yourself lucky, go get some meal vouchers from LH and spend them on beer.
