First trip to Fukuoka

I had a chance to visit Fukuoka on the way back home so I stopped over one more night and visited a few friends:

1. Arrive late morning by bus, lunch was at a large restaurant called Tsukae. The two set choices both cost Y1200 and the place was packed. For Y1200 we got soba, tempura, meshi (rice), soup, menkaiko (fish eggs) and assorted side dishes. The other choice was a sashimi course. They even validated the parking ticket.

2. First stop after lunch was the Dazaifu ruins.

3. Next was the Dazaifu Tenman Gu. Since this is around entrance exam time, this shrine was full of people. Ume was in full bloom in the garden.

4. Next to the shrine is the Kyushu National Museum. We spent a few hours there.

5. Dinner was at a restaurant called Shiro Uo located on the river at Muromi and a short walk from the subway Airport Line Muromi Stn. We were just in time to taste the Shiro Uo hatchings.

6. After dinner was a taste of the Nakasu night life. Not quite Kitashinji but still lots of people.

This was great first trip.
