I used to think the lack of seat power was a big negative, but I bought a new MacBook Pro late last year. I just flew JFK-SFO and used the laptop heavily during flight to read backlogged email, etc. I had at least an hour and a half of battery life left on arrival. I could probably do Europe to the East Coast. Watching movies would shorten the battery life, but I'd rent a dig-e-player if I wanted to do that.
