Nevertheless, there are cultural sites and activities in Nassau that would appeal to any age. There's a zoo, gardens, a fort, more than one museum, the over-hyped but awkwardly charming Straw Market, and many boating-related activities. Not exactly high culture, I admit, but culturally flavorful nonetheless, with a quaint British air. But, as I intimated, I don't go to the Bahamas for the culture. The beach is where it's at. Were I in Miami, I'd also be at the beach or on a boat, even though there are many cultural things to do ashore there too.

I'm from Ohio, so I consider 75 degrees tropical. You may not. Still, the climate in the Bahamas is not altogether different from that of Miami, so weather-wise I don't see any disadvantage to being offshore. And, to me, being in another country, regardless how nearby and Americanized it may be, has a charm all its own.

I am from chicago. Thanks again

If you go, please let us know. ^
