If I may ask, who is your corporate TA- is it an international agency ala Amex or Carlson? I have never been able to do an upgrade with a TA issued ticket- quite frustrating.
We use CWT (Carlson Wagon Lit Travel, Netherlands) and I always ask them to book me an upgradeable ticket and they always manage to do so. No idea how though. We have no corporate contract with BA so maybe they just book it directly or something. We are only required to use CWT because they keep track of our employees on the road (in case of emergencies etc).
When I get back from my sabbatical I will ask.
