Interesting. And you know what now that I think about it further...that may also be the case with other carriers too. I got a few refunds from UA this year on cancelled itineraries...but they were all award reservations.
I remember changing reservations on WN in the past and getting a net $2.50 or some-such credited back to my credit card based on landing fees or # of stops type of thing and its impact to taxes/fees.
