More flexibility to rebook online, and better ability to preserve the same locator when you paid for EBCI.
One other point. If you need to change only half of a RT, you can ask the CSR to cancel only half the trip. (This cannot be done online.) Then you can use the funds in that PNR to book your new half. That would preserve EBCI for the half of the trip you are keeping.
