UA must be aiming for high-yield pax (US$6,800 r/t in J) whose time are valued highly on this run (feasible as it is linking NYC-based financial institutions with their huge presence in HKG). I haven't checked out the a/c configuration used for this flight but I wouldn't be surprised if there are over 100 busness class seats
As to how highly they are valued, the housing allowance for a Chase V.P. (not that high a rank in a bank) is more than what many of us - even the bank's employees - are paid.
