I do like the Diamond Force and hope that stays around. This is one of the best features.
I like the 2 selection idea. As for the DF, great benefit but rarely used. For awards I've used it 2x as 4 years as a Diamond.

I'm in the boat with agreeing that Diamond isn't that much greater than GE. HH could do more to separate the tiers better. When Hilton came out with the wording on the lounge thing, I remember several good threads/discussions on the gold vs diamond and they were spot on, gold for HH is good, diamond not so compared to other programs.
While it does seem like you can get pretty easily (Surpass, Amex spend, promo this and that), I'm not worried about the # of golds, just the lack of extra benefits for diamonds.

In my experience the treatment received at International properties has been and is still far better than domestic properties and when it comes to executive lounges the worst International ounge I have been in is way far, far, better than the very best NA lounge.
