That adapter you have is fine. You will pop out the prongs for the UK in the picture on the right, and plug the charger in the place it fits on the side on the picture on the left.
There's also a very good chance if you are staying in a hotel they will have a regular US 110 plug in the bathroom too.
On the adapter Samsonite sold me, it has a small plastic piece that folds out to give three prongs, instead of two. Does the fact that the bottom prong is plastic mean that it will not be grounded?
