Arrow Aloft, Denver Airport [Master Thread]

Just stayed at the Aloft property near Denver Airport (on 40th, just off the Pena Blvd to Denver Intl Airport).

Although I dig the design and can get down with the funky vibe and love elevator music you can dance to.......

MINUSES: This property is tucked into the I-70 highway interchange, so there was loud highway traffic noise all night and day. Because of the L-shaped building, about 3/4th of rooms face the highway. Windows are ordinary, with no extra soundproofing.....Room design has no door to partition the sink area from bed area, so if one person gets up early and has lights on, the other person is likley to be awakened, also. The shades on the windows do not block light from the edges of windows. Toilet area lights are on same switch as sink area, so no way to keep room dark if one person is up early.......So, for me, the Aloft fails the first test of an airport hotel---quiet enough and dark enough to get some sleep.....here it's not airplane noise, but highway noise! Printer at front desk was not working, so could not get receipt, but it was e-mailed.

PLUSES: It's part of the large hotel-office complex on 40th off Pena Blvd, so there are several restaurants within sight (5-min walk) and a 7-11 store. There's Applebees, Einstein Bagels, Unos Pizza, a steak place, etc. For locally-owned places, go to the area across 40th from the Hyatt Place hotel for Mexican, Thai, Italian and a full-size liquor store........Rooms with 2 beds have 2 queen size beds.....Airport shuttle van is shared with full-service Marriott next door, so seems to be reliable.

Hope this is helpful.
