No lounges, a little funky bar that sells sandwiches, and a few souvenir shops. I visited San Pedro on Ambergris Caye last year and it was great. It's all about diving and more diving. As I recall, when you arrive at BZE, you clear customs and then go back inside into the waiting lounge for the two domestic airlines--Tropic and Maya Island. They both fly the same type of aircraft--single engine turboprop Cessnas with one pilot. When you arrive in San Pedro, you are literally less than a block away from most of the resorts--you do not need a taxi or any assistance at all to get to most accomodations, and in fact they do not really have taxis there--everyone uses golf carts. As I recall, I hung out most evenings at a place called Fidos? and there was a great little coffee shop hang out accross the street called the Island Brew or something like that. The street food was great--typical central american pupusas, balledas, and even lobster burritos. Have a great time and report back!
