My
Photo Jacket from Canada Goose just arrived today.
It is quite possibly the best made (and most expensive) piece of clothing I've ever owned. Inspired by
PTravel's
Scottvest thread in Travel Products, and
GadgetFreak's mention of Canada Goose in said thread, I was off on a hunt for a CG Photographers Jacket. Production runs are apparently limited and I scored the only one left in my size.
While not as "pocket-full" as a Scottvest, it does have pockets everywhere, at least four of which could swallow a DSLR body with plenty of room to spare. A side pocket even took a Canon 28-80 f2.8 lens with hood (reversed). When I put my gear back in the photobag after loading the jacket up with gear for a test, I actually forgot the 28-80 was in the pocket

. Unlike the Scottvest, it is totally waterproof and designed for Arctic conditions.
With the
Cotton Carrier system on, I could zip the CG over the top of a camera with 400mm lens and, even though I looked pregnant, it worked.
Now I feel protected against the weather and equipped to take advantage of airport security's assumption that a jacket is not a carry-on.
...approaching travel photography nirvana.
