Sure about that? Southwest Pacific (MEL) to South America Zone 2 (EZE) costs 50,000 AA points each way in business class, so 100,000 return.
You can buy a maximum of 40,000 AA points each year. This costs US$1,000 plus a US$30 processing fee. Currently they have a promotion whereby you will receive 15,000 bonus points when purchasing 40,000, so 55,000 points for US$1,030 which is about AU$1,150.
