Hi all

I am flying (unconfirmed) MEL-SYD-EZE later in the year and have finally built up my QFF balance to something I can use.

I can't decide whether to use my points to book ecomomy return (+AUD 388 taxes) or buy an economy fare and upgrade to business??? I am worried that upgrades for QFF may not be available and I'll be stuck paying for economy and not using any points!!!

can anyone share good/bad experiences upgrading on points? ever missed out due to unavailability?????

also how can i tell that i have an upgradeable ecomony fare (I notice QANTAS has some strict rules on this)???
