Have heard Haiti is now holding imports, including medicine, for customs. You either pay customs or you wait for the bureaucratic process (apparently you have to sign your goods over to the govt and then they give them back).

Will this new move by the Haitian govt affect you?

Have heard many relief agencies are upset at the moment because all their medications, tents, and supplies (to be given away) are sitting in a PAP customs warehouse and not moving anywhere fast.

On CNN they interviewed doctors who brought medications down to treat patients in field hospitals standing around the PAP airport because customs has all their supplies. Some of the MD's were only down for a few days and concerned their medical supplies for the field hospitals would not be released in time for them to see the 300~ patients a day.

What's your insight on this - was this CNN report accurate? If so I find it really troubling as one of many Americans who have donated to relief organizations including Dr's without Borders.
