QF enforced the carry-on weight limit on us last May when we flew LAX-AKL. The only difference was, ours was not connection but direct check-in at the T4 QF counter. The agent did weigh the carry-ons. We had one slightly under and one slightly over (by no more than 1.xx kg). He let us take them as carry-ons. Incidentally we had no other check-in luggage, just the 2 rollaboards, camera bag and handbag. We also had upper deck seats and I didn't recall any issue putting up the carry-ons.
