In April My wife and I will travel IAD-LAX-AKL for a vacation on an AA business class award, AA 263 in 1st to QF26 in J. Both flights are at LAX T4, so we can connect airside and not have to re-clear TSA. We hope to go with one carry-on each on the outbound leg to minimize lost luggage risk (we'll consign our bags to the checked luggage gods for the return). Our bags will easily meet AA and QF carry-on size limits, but I see that QF also has a 7 kg (15 lb) per bag weight limit that could be a problem.

Have any of you done AA to QF at LAX T4 and know whether QF enforces the carry-on weight limit against J-class pax there? By the way, I'm also asking the same question in the QF forum. Thanks in advance for any advice.
