Because your earlier post pretty much sounds like it doesn't matter HOW big it is. As a "elite" you plan to haul that steamer trunk on.

And that means you have decided that "rules" are for "lessor" folks??? RIght? Because there's no 'Size' exemption with your "elite" status. (It's "elite" not "entitled" anyway)
My bag always fits in the overhead. It's a standard rollerboard bag and I usually try to put it in wheels or handle first...

IF, we are on a plane where the overheads are slightly shorter than usual, I am going to turn my bag lengthwise and it's going in the overhead.

Done.
