OP based on your post I think you will be very disappointed with your switch. DL SM has become a lot less generous, you may get 100% miles but by the sounds of things over on the DL board you may not be able to get an award seat due to terrible availability.

Also KLM will likely upgrade you even less than Continental so don't get your hope up in terms of upgrades!

All in all I think the only thing that might improve out of the things you noted are potentially the price and that could very possibly change again
