Also CX should have better lounges. Lounges at outports are sometimes terrible but even in Hong Kong, the CX F & J lounges are not as good as BA/Qantas in terms of ambience and food offerings. Granted, CX has a bigger lounge but that's not really a big benefit.
I've heard some say that Plaza Premium in Hong Kong is better than Wing/Pier. But seriously, if you have the CX AMEX card, get yourself the Priority Plus membership so you can have access to other lounges. And eat a full meal (at least you can do that at Plaza Premium) before you board a CX flight if you go hungry easily. On a recent flight in Y, I made a point of ordering a hindi non-vegetarian meal and the quality was surprisingly good.
