You downplay the upgrade priority issue since by saying that I "very well" may have received the same upgrade through FHR. If I have a choice, why would I pick the lower priority program when they are the same price?

You downplay the breakfast issue by saying that the hotel may have ignored the rules and not charge me for the better meal (despite the hotel confirming that the FSPP breakfast was in fact different than the FHR one).

You then throw in the typical Centurion annual fee bash. I don't use Centurion for every travel need. I use whatever program is the best for my specific reservation. Sometimes Centurion is better, sometimes it's not. For my stay at the George V, the FSPP benefits were better. FHR does guarantee 4pm checkout, so if that is the primary decider, then FHR could be better. I could take your approach and just be like Oh, well the hotel would probably give a 4pm check out anyways.
Honestly, no motive whatsoever, other than fleshing out a factual comparison of two very similar programs. I'm certainly not an FHR apologist (in fact I'd say I rarely use it). You seem to be taken this personally and it's not personal.

FT is a place for people to learn about and use to fullest advantage, various travel loyalty programs. You made a one sentence response asserting "superiority." You didn't use the word "better" in your post, but rather "superior" In my book "superior" means significantly better than "better" and I've attempted to flesh the discussion out with some data points.

So far, you simply have not, in any way, shape, or form, articulated an argument, which in my mind supports the assertion that FSPP is "superior" to FHR at George V in Paris. Period. From what I can find, the two programs are far more similar than different.

You assert that I've "downplayed" the breakfast/upgrade issue. Well, I think you've "up played" those issues. So, I guess tomato, tomahto. Clearly we'll just have to agree to disagree.

Months and years down the road when others search FT for info on FSPP vs. FHR, at least now there is some actual dialogue and discussion in the thread regarding the pros and cons of each program, rather than just a once sentence declaration of the winner, without context, supporting discussion, etc. Others can decide whether they agree with your assertion or my own.

At the end of the day, appartently you felt good with the transaction, so that's all that matters.

Enjoy your future travels.
