I'm going to bring my own food to eat while i'm there. 2 liters of water, a pair of sandwiches, and cookies to nibble on. Also a few extra shirts (I sweat a ton), insect repellent, an extra pair of socks, and about US$500 in various notes.
@Sebastian_R, do you or your colleagues know at all about GSM coverage there?
I won't be in Logbase all the time, since they are going to want a better picture of their plot of land and the infrastructure from the airport-hospital, to see what equipment they can bring.
It's rather safe so no worries going around. Always good having people close who know what's going on. As you said, if there is one place that doesn't need tourists, its PaP right now. Also, water and food shouldn't be your biggest worry. If its more convenient this way - fine, otherwise, you'll be fine getting stuff there.
Cellphone coverage is there (at least where the NGOs are). It can be rougher if you have to go into the more remote areas.
