In my experience flying into MBS (I started when I was about 10 yrs old, which was almost 20 yrs ago) is always much more expensive than FNT or DTW, I have never looked into LAN. I bet it has soemthing to do with the MBS-ORD/ORD-MBS flights not being very full. I've also only flown to MBS on a connecting flight and it is always $300-$500 more than flying into DTW.
