Flying on a codeshare is quite a hassle, what with the confusing checkin location, inability to ONCI, no seat assignments until day of the flight, no perks. We only did this to get the CO miles since he is close to a reward

Oh well, live and learn: I should have checked here first!
Dont know if its always possible, but in the past when Im flying on more then 1 metal I call the issuing Carrier and ask and always get my PNRs (record locators) for each Carrier I will be flying on

eg I have an upcoming trip that orginally was US for my outbound and SN and UA for my return. An Intl trip using my CO miles for a Saver award tkt. called US and UA and ordered my special meal and got seating assignments, being *Gold UA put me right into E+ (BTW Im 1K with UA anyway so i would ahve gotten it). Ive changed my flights a couple of times and now Im on CO for my outbound and not US any longer. When I log onto my UA acct my BRU-ORD & ORD-PHL flights appear as future travel

So definitely call and get each carriers PNR and use that for OLCI you cant use a CO PNR to check in on UA
