if AF said "extraordinary circ." don't be afraid. Push them to respect EU rules (flights to or from any EU country) If you don't succeed ask www.euclaim.eu or http://www.euclaim.co.uk/
They will do the job for you and if they succeed they will pay themselves about 25% of the expected amount. I did it, and it works.
