Not true...if you pay for a Business Class award ticket, but can't get all segments confirmed in J, Aeroplan will change your ticket if award space becomes available on the specific flight you've booked at no charge.
It has to be the same flight, date, airline, etc...just a class of service change. and, it has to be prior to date of departure.
