It's been a while since I stayed at Embassy but when I was thinking their breakfast was like Homewood suites, a buffet style. I like homewoods breakfast a lot as well.

At the HGI that I stay at a lot in NYC they have a different menu if you are using vouchers than the regular menu they give non comped. The selection is good though and it's a decent breakfast for free.

My favorite place for breakfast is the Courtyard in Toronto. They give you two vouchers on the AAA rate every morning regardless of your tier level with Marriott.

The HGI breakfast is essentially the same as at Embassy Suites, the difference being ES suite breakfasts are included in your room rate, HGI's are free if you're gold or above.
