Compensation for more than 4 hours delay?

Hi, i was on the A380 flight from JFK to CDG last sunday. It has been cancelled and AF called me on my way to the airport 1h30 before the flight. They rescheduled me on the 11h35pm. Which is more than 4 hours after. I understood from a pax that I am entitled to get something like 600 euros from AF as a compensation thanks to the new europeans rules.
Is that true? what should I do to get that?
