No offense re: the humor and wit exhibited here, but isn't this what the lounge thread is for? IIRC, this was thoroughly hashed out several years ago and the solution was "humor" threads would be accommodated in the lounge thread and the rest of the forum would be for, ahem, non-humorous threads.

Of course, my memory might fail me on this point.
