The Same Day Change is for the same city pair. Changing the city pair is not a "stand by" type thing... you will most likely be facing a fare change to route you over DFW.
How are the city pairs changing? Both are still TPA-BOS, it's the routing OP wants to change.
SDC is probably the best hope, but don't know if it will work or not. Depends on fare rules and loads.
