I asked about this a while ago too. I found out the answer was no. The GS requal counter looks at the same thing that MP credit does. If the flight doesn't post to MP, it won't post to the GS count.

Thanks to you both. That's too bad. You'd think that even if someone is a high spender, you'd think that UA would want to give them GS to incent them to use United as much as possible. I realize many here might not consider that "fair," but it might be the right thing for the airline. I guess potential GS qualifiers who chose to credit miles to another program are probably a pretty limited group...
