The bigger question is why TSA suddenly felt the need to push their useless shower of harassment down upon everyone else in the boarding area. Obviously the person in question had some sort of boarding pass with her name on it-- otherwise she probably wouldn't have gotten to the boarding area in the first place. Checking everyone's boarding pass and ID again wouldn't detect whatever it was they missed in the first place (if they missed anything at all).

Additionally, everybody in the boarding area has already been screened and is supposedly proven to be weapon-free. Given that assumption, checking everybody's boarding pass and ID provides no additional security whatsoever-- all it does is provide taxpayer-funded revenue protection services for the airlines.

I even question the legality of such a search. To me, asking for this information again and again constitutes "unreasonable". I guess that the pro-TSA folks on this forum should be glad I'm not a lawmaker or sitting on the Supreme Court...
