I have a hyphenated last name. Long story, don't bring it up. For example, my name is "xxxxx-yyyyy". My email address is
[email protected]. My wife's last name is the same. When trying to book a ticket on delta.com, it took me no less than 8 tries to get it to go through. Every time I have to change something, then remember to fill out the parts of the form again that were not carried over from the last submission, then I forget and have to repeat on and on and on.
error 1: "invalid email address" - I'm not sure if this is because my email address is only one character before the "@" or because there is a hyphen in the domain name. Either way this is completely incorrect on Delta's part. I suggest the Delta web developers read the RFCs around what is a valid email address and what is not.
error 2: "invalid last name" - "Xxxxx-Yyyyy" was not accepted when I tried to enter it for my wife's name. Changed it to "Xxxxx Yyyyy" and it worked.
error 3: "invalid credit card number" - not sure why this comes up when I have to repeat a form submission. It is correct as displayed and I type it in again exactly as it was before and it works.
error 4: "name does not match skymiles name" - this came up for my wife's name. I tried "Xxxxx-Yyyyy", "XxxxxYyyyy", "Xxxxx Yyyyy" and none of them seemed to work either. Eventually I gave up and just checked the box that said I'd enter it later.
Could DeltaWebDev or someone please fix these problems? I get enough grief about my name already!
