As part of that "faster service" that you say comes with first class, I think faster service comes in the form of bathrooms too. Having to wait for 4-5 people to use the bathroom in front of me isn't an exciting idea, it's annoying. If I pay for FC, I expect faster bathroom service.
I've flown in business on the transcon. 767 before and had to wait for upwards of 10 people to use the one bathroom that was allocated to my side of business class. In the rear of the airplane, there were several bathrooms in the rear of coach.
Bringing up my point from before - the coach passengers would be equally inconvienienced if 14 F passengers on a S80 decided they all needed to use the coach bathroom at the same time. Again, I don't think I'm special, but I would like to get that upgraded service that comes with FC, part of which is faster access to food, FAs, and the lavatory.

When people are standing above you in the aisle waiting for something, it aways feels like they're watching you, whether they are or not. I find it uncomfortable to have people invading my personal space. If you are an American you should be used to the large personal space radius we are comfortable with. If you don't believe me, next time you're on a plane stand slightly behind someone in the aisle, and see if they don't get uncomfortable.
And, as I mentioned before, I do most of my travel in coach. On 90% of those flights I see people trying to sneak peaks into first class to see what's going on. I've never seen anyone in FC try to do that in coach.
Also, when sitting in FC while the plane is being boarded, I notice that most coach passengers are much more interested in seeing what I'm up to than when I'm sitting in the front of coach.
Do I think there is anything going on in FC or FC pax reading materials are more interesting? No.. Do I think that other people do? Yes - because I see people peeking in to FC all the time.
Finally, I'd like to reiterate my concern with coach passengers using the FC bathroom is not that I need to feel elite, but I prefer to not have extra passengers and traffic in the FC aisle, or a line for the bathroom. In fact, whether I'm sitting in FC, coach, business, on a bus, train, subway, in a movie theater, I'd prefer to not have lots of traffic going by me in the aisles, or a line for the bathroom. Call me crazy.
For those of you who feel that we should all be equal and receive equal treatment, I don't want to catch you using any AAdvantage elite benefits....
