IMHO, the Skyteam offer to Asia is a very good one (I am at the present time in BKK, leaving on thursday to SGN) :
- Delta from the USA, which has a very interesting network ;
- AF to Vietnam (direct with one stop, with *A I would need to change at HKG or BKK) ;

The AF stop is in BKK. What's the difference between that and the *A options??
And ST is decent enough to get folks to major destinations Asia. The bigger problem is generally getting around within Asia.
