I'm new to European rail travel and appreciate your willingness to share your expertise!
Cisalpino no longer exists; its trains, which ran between Switzerland and Italy, are now operated by the Swiss and Italian railroads. Why would SNCF have anything to do with Cisalpino? I've often ridden the express trains between Switzerland and Italy, albeit in first class, including Cisalpino trains, and never had a reservation - and never had to stand.
