even if you do need 120k for a flight, getting the rest of 20k would be not that bad, 2 spg(1pers, 1biz) bonuses and you're already there sitting at 125k.
For me, travel is about destination, not actual flying. I just want to get somewhere as cheaply as possible and don't mind coach. BA will not sell me 20K miles I would be short, only 19K and for this they want $550+, which also sounds ridiculous. Add in the fees and taxes and it's the same price or more than Travelocity without any of the FF hassle.
I thought that having 100K BA miles would actually get me closer to Asia but at first glance these BA miles look pretty worthless for such a trip.
