Sanctity of Assigned Seat?
I have seen and experienced on ocassions a reluctance on the part of flight crews for passengers to exchange their seats without their knowledge and approval. In these instances the only reason I could come up with is that in case the plane falls out of the sky, it would compromise the reliability of the FAA statistics on safest areas of the plane. If I were a passenger on said aircraft I frankly wouldn't care.
In the case of a TSO or TSA, perhaps if they can identify the seat that the "evel doer" used, and there is an "event", their thinking might be, by eliminating this seat on all airplanes, they have effectively thwarted future events, or at least caused confusion amonst their breathren.
Just a WAG!
