Have you considered carrying a conventional lightweight power strip like one that you might already have in your garage? Then you just plug that into the physical wall adapter associated with the country you're in, and you have lots of U.S. style outlets. And speaking of Monster Cable, they make some nice power strips marketed as "Outlets to Go". Sadly, they don't have gold plated plugs...
