I keep all my small valuables (wallet, passport, ipod, camera, blackberry, etc) in a hiking vest I wear while traveling. Great for going through security, comfortable while seated, and I can get to anything I need in an instant. I know a professional pickpocket could get in the vest pockets if I were sleeping, but it will keep the garden-variety rubes from pawing through your things.
