Well, I could start thinking about earning that many tier points IF BA offered many more flights out of CDG to me. I can basically ither go to LHR or JFK using BA out of Paris. I understand why but basically I think that I cannot necessarily chose BA as much as I would want to earn more tier points. The lower requirement does make sense for those living in mainland Europe.
