I would understand reduced FA, meal, and booze service to save money.

But no newspapers, reduced pillows, and no footrests??? Geez. Talk about pinching pennies. And fractions of pennies. Won't it actually cost more for AA to bring in a Footrest Removal Squad than it would to simply leave the things there?

I flew DAL-ORD-DAL once. Totally enjoyed it. Went out of my way to fly it just because I'd heard how great it was. I'd probably still fly it for the enhanced legroom, but I probably wouldn't go out of my way or pay extra for it anymore.
