I think it is ridiculous the way pricing is at United for one way tickets. With the recent introduction of one way awards, my wife and I decided to book a one way on our trip to Taiwan because we didn't have enough miles for the round trip. But when I go to book a one way economy from ORD-TPE the price is over $2000! A round trip is usually around a $1000. This policy gouges customers and the end result is we booked a one way ticket on Air Canada for $750. Air Canada and ANA have much better one way pricing to Asia than United.
