Resolved: Club floor but hotel insists I have to pay for breakfast at club. (Lima)

Ok, I never have run across this before.

Im currently staying at the Lima, Peru Sheraton. Im using starpoints for my stay. Im a SPG GOLD, as such, I was upgraded to the 17th floor, which is denoted as a "club floor". The club is on the 18th floor.

I went there for breakfast today, and asked if the breakfast was free, she said yes. I then had a little to eat. She came over to my table and asked my room. I told her. I then found out that there is a CHARGE for the breakfast, according to her (she called the front desk(?)) Im using points for my stay.

So If I go for snacks, I will be charged also?

So now Im a 2nd class citizen since Im using points? I do not believe this is right. Has anyone else run into this situation before?

Any advice from fellow flyertalkers?
