I think so.
Initially I caught the error before they debited the miles, got them to agree it was fewer miles, and thought that would be the end of it. Then the thing didn't ticket, I called back, they said it didn't ticket because that agent was incorrect, and they ticketed it at the higher amount without my consent.
I got every excuse in the book -- first started with they can dump the ticket and start over, then the UA 3-class plane pushed it up (there was no UA 3-class plane on the itin), then it was the US 3-class plane that pushed it up (US doesn't have 3 classes), then no can do, then we'll credit after travel, and when I pushed back, give it 1-2 weeks. All of which was with lengthy holds in between excuses. When that didn't post, they said it was denied due to the initial agent's notes, and they pretended not to see the notes on my side (which were just verified with the Plat desk, and printed at a PC). That's when I got nasty and asked for how much it would cost to purchase the miles in question so I could put that dollar amount on the small claims paperwork. All of a sudden, they got scared and they got someone higher up, who looked at it, called UA to verify "my story" that it was not a 3-class plane, and finally apologized and credited the miles.
I'm glad your issue wasn't as bad, but I'm personally very skeptical for the OP. Hopefully he or she won't have to go through what I did.

Let us know if/when they post or if you have to follow up. Good luck!
