The premium rate isnt specific to BA Miles per se. You acheived premium customer status if at some point in the past you had spent more than about £800 at Tesco over a quarter. Having done this, the "premium" status sticks with you forever, regardless of spend levels there after. Being a "premium" customer entitled you to various enhanced rewards; a 3.2 rate instead of 2.4 rate for BA Miles being one of them.
