The argument is that the employees is functional upon arrival rather than needing an extra travel day. There is definitely value there but it it is always difficult to know if the number matches the increased airfare costs.
And the 10x number is from the more discounted coach fares in most cases; if the coach fare is mid-level as opposed to the deepest discount then the price difference comes a lot closer to what a lost billable revenue day might work out to for the company.
