Stopped by the Mandarin this week for a few night stay.

Got upgraded into my favorite room number by chance...the X60. I like the trains, the planes, the monuments and the water from that room series' vantage point.

Anything new to report? Not really, but here are a few observations:
-They pushed the upcharge into Club at check-in. I declined since I knew I wouldnt be in the hotel much. They said it was upgraded vs my last visit a year and a half ago.
-The locker rooms are free again
-Orange juice isnt 100% freshly squeezed. This is becoming a recurring theme at lux hotels lately. Same was true at FS Jimbaran.
-TV is still a tube set, not LCD on the non-Club floors
-The area hasnt built up much. It's still fairly isolated
-Service was strong and the rooms did not look worn after 5 years. It still has the best room overall room quality among the DC lux set
